On August 27 the Guysborough Historical Society will be hosting author Mark Partridge at the Old Court House Museum in Guysborough at 7:00 PM.
Mark Partridge is a former lawyer turned writer. His latest work, Submit, marks the beginning of a series of historical novels inspired by the rich tapestry of his colonial ancestry-featuring pilgrims, puritans, soldiers, ministers, missionaries, and a Salem witch. With over three decades dedicated to the study of his family history, Mark brings a unique depth and authenticity to his storytelling.
His novel Submut tells the story of Submit Leete, a young woman in Nova Scotia from a Tory family, who marries a British captain more than twice her age. When he dies and she remarries his younger protégé too soon afterwards, Submit’s step-daughter suspects the worst and vows revenge.
He is a graduate of Harvard Law School whose legal career spans across private practice, academia, and arbitration. As an internationally recognized legal expert, he has penned three books and numerous articles on various legal issues, establishing himself as a thought leader in the field. He resides in picturesque southwest Michigan with his wife, where he continues to explore the intersection of history and law through his writing.
